In recent years, pellet hormone therapy—often marketed as “natural” or “bioidentical”—has gained popularity among women and men looking for relief from hormone imbalance. These tiny pellets, inserted under the skin, promise steady hormone levels and symptom relief. But are they really safe? And are they truly natural?
Let’s take a closer look at what’s really happening beneath the surface. What Is Pellet Hormone Therapy? Pellet therapy involves inserting synthetic or semi-synthetic hormones (often compounded estradiol or testosterone) under the skin. These pellets slowly release hormones over several months and are often promoted as “bioidentical.” However, bioidentical does not mean risk-free—and these hormones are still processed in labs, not by nature. The Hidden Risks of Hormone Pellets: Difficult to Regulate Once inserted, you can’t “dial down” the dose. If your body reacts poorly, the effects can last 3–6 months. Synthetic Overload Many compounded hormones are molecularly altered versions of natural hormones. Your body recognizes the difference—even if the label says otherwise. Increased Risk for Side Effects Clients commonly report:
Not FDA-Regulated While the pellets themselves may come from a compounding pharmacy, the process and dosing are often not FDA monitored for safety, purity, or consistency. A More Holistic Path to Hormone Balance True hormone balance begins at the root level—by nourishing the endocrine system, supporting detox pathways, and calming inflammation. Here’s what I recommend instead: 1. Whole-Food Nutrition for Hormone Support
2. Whole Food & Herbal Supplements
3. Holistic Therapies That Help
You Don’t Need to Force Balance—Your Body Wants to Heal If you’re struggling with fatigue, PMS, low libido, mood swings, or menopausal symptoms, there is another way. Your hormones are messengers, not mistakes. With the right testing, food, and energetic support, your body can return to a state of harmony without synthetic intervention. Why Gut Health Might Be the Missing Link to Better Mood, Memory & Mental Clarity Did you know that your gut is often referred to as your “second brain”? And for good reason—your digestive system is deeply connected to how you feel emotionally, mentally, and even spiritually. The gut-brain axis is a communication superhighway that links your digestive tract to your central nervous system. When your gut is inflamed or imbalanced, it doesn’t just cause bloating or food sensitivities—it can impact your mood, memory, focus, and sleep. Over 90% of serotonin—your feel-good neurotransmitter—is made in the gut An imbalanced microbiome can contribute to anxiety, depression, and brain fog Gut inflammation is linked to neuroinflammation, affecting mental clarity and mood stability Signs Your Gut May Be Affecting Your Brain:
How I Can Support You: At Earthbound Therapeutics, we take an integrative approach—addressing the root cause, not just the symptoms. Through advanced tools like: Muscle testing & microbial scanning Visceral manipulation & lymphatic balancing Customized detox and digestive protocols Nutritional guidance, herbs, and frequency therapies We work to restore harmony between your gut and brain, so you can feel like yourself again. Let’s Get You Back in Balance If you’re ready to dive deeper into your wellness journey, schedule your next visit today. Your gut—and your brain—will thank you. Be Well, Earthbound, Natasha Baker,BS,LMBT,CTT,FMT,RYT (Owner) When the body holds tension, trauma, or pain, it often speaks through headaches, jaw discomfort, nervous system dysregulation, or chronic fatigue. Craniosacral Therapy (CST) offers a powerful yet gentle way to listen and restore balance from the inside out.
This hands-on, light-touch therapy works with the rhythm of the craniosacral system—the membranes and cerebrospinal fluid that surround and protect your brain and spinal cord. By encouraging natural alignment and flow, CST helps relieve pressure, release restrictions, and calm the nervous system. What to Expect During a Session During your session, you’ll lie comfortably fully clothed on a treatment table in a peaceful, quiet space. I use no more than 5 grams of pressure—about the weight of a nickel—making CST one of the most subtle yet effective hands-on therapies available. Each session follows a gentle 10-step protocol, beginning at the base of the skull and moving through key areas along the spine and central nervous system (CNS). This protocol helps detect and release restrictions in the craniosacral rhythm and encourages the body’s natural healing mechanisms to restore balance and alignment. Most clients experience deep relaxation, a sense of calm, and sometimes emotional release as the body unwinds stored tension. Conditions CST Can Help With Migraines & Headaches Releases subtle tension patterns around the skull and neck that contribute to chronic migraines or tension headaches. TMJ & Jaw Pain Eases jaw tightness, reduces clenching, and supports proper alignment of the temporomandibular joint. Trauma & Emotional Holding Gently guides the body back into a state of safety and regulation—without force or retraumatization. Nervous System Imbalance (Fight-or-Flight / Freeze) Activates the parasympathetic nervous system, promoting deep restoration, better sleep, and reduced anxiety. Why Clients Love CST CST is safe, non-invasive, and deeply relaxing. Many clients report:
It’s ideal for sensitive individuals, children, or those navigating chronic stress, trauma, or nervous system overload. Ready to Reclaim Your Calm? If you’ve been living with pain, stress, or unresolved trauma—Craniosacral Therapy may be the reset your body’s been waiting for. I’d be honored to support your healing journey. Warmly, Natasha Baker, BS, LMBT, CTT, FMT, RYT Earthbound Therapeutics When we feel pain in the legs—tightness in the hamstrings, aching thighs, or nerve-like sensations—it’s natural to assume the cause is muscular. Maybe it’s from overuse, a workout, or poor posture. But what if the true source is deeper… much deeper?
Surprisingly, your intestines may be the culprit—and this is where visceral osteopathic bodywork sheds light on a root cause that’s often overlooked. What Is Visceral Bodywork? Visceral manipulation is a gentle, hands-on therapy that focuses on the movement and positioning of the internal organs (viscera) such as the intestines, liver, and kidneys. Just like muscles and joints, your organs need to move freely and rhythmically, especially with breath and motion. If an organ is restricted—due to inflammation, past infections, trauma, scar tissue, or chronic gut issues—those restrictions can pull on the connective tissues (fascia) and nerves that link the organ to other parts of the body. How the Intestines and Legs Are Connected The gut and lower body are connected through several key pathways:
A Real-World Example A patient with chronic hamstring pain and stiffness who sees no improvement with stretching or massage might actually have:
In a session, an osteopathic practitioner may gently work on the intestines, especially around the ileocecal valve or sigmoid colon, and the client may notice the leg pain begins to release—without ever touching the leg. Signs Your Gut May Be Causing Leg Pain
Healing from the Inside Out Osteopathic and visceral bodywork can free up deep restrictions that traditional massage or stretching can’t access. By restoring normal motion to the intestines and addressing root dysfunction, you may finally experience relief from leg pain that’s been misunderstood or mistreated for years. If your leg pain persists despite muscular therapies, it may be time to look inward—literally. Ready to Explore a Holistic Approach? At Earthbound Therapeutics, I offer osteopathic-informed bodywork and visceral manipulation to help uncover the root causes of pain, tension, and imbalance. Every session is tailored to your body’s needs and responses, because healing isn’t always where you feel the pain. For more research on Visceral Manipulation you can go here: BI-Research-Flyer-1.pdf Book your session or learn more at: www.earthboundtherapeutics.com If you’ve been navigating persistent low mood, sleep issues, or anxiety—even while on antidepressants—you’re not alone. The good news? Recent clinical research has revealed a powerful natural approach that may offer the extra support your body and mind need to heal.
A 2025 double-blind, placebo-controlled clinical trial studied the effects of a herbal blend featuring Turmeric (Curcumin), Boswellia, Gotu Kola, and Bupleurum in adults already on antidepressants. The results were remarkable: 42% of participants had a 50% or greater improvement in depression symptoms Sleep quality improved by 25% in the herbal group Anxiety scores dropped by 22%, significantly more than the placebo No serious adverse events reported—proving it’s safe to use alongside conventional meds This herbal combination works by supporting healthy inflammation levels, protecting your nervous system, and boosting brain-derived neurotrophic factor (BDNF)—a key factor in mood regulation and brain resilience. With care, Natasha Baker, BS, LMBT, CTT, FMT, RYT (Owner) How I Use Osteopathic Bodywork in My Practice
At Earthbound Therapeutics, I take a multi-layered approach—combining osteopathic-informed bodywork, kinesiology muscle testing, and functional nutrition to help uncover and address the root causes of imbalance. Each session is customized to what your body needs most that day. Here’s how it works: Osteopathic Manual Therapy – Gently realigns the body and improves flow in the craniosacral, lymphatic, and visceral systems Kinesiology Muscle Testing – Acts as a biofeedback tool to uncover hidden stressors, infections, toxic burdens, and emotional imprints Nutritional Therapy – Supports healing from the inside out with targeted nutrients, detox support, or food-based guidance to restore function and vitality Together, these tools help reveal the “why” behind your symptoms and support healing in all systems—physical, emotional, and energetic. What Can This Help With? Clients often seek this integrative approach for: Chronic Pain Relief Gentle structural work helps resolve deep patterns of tension, postural strain, and inflammation. Migraines, TMJ, & Hormonal Imbalance Releases restrictions in cranial, lymphatic, and endocrine systems while identifying nutritional or microbial contributors. Trauma & Emotional Holding Body-based work, paired with kinesiology, helps unwind trauma stored in tissues and regulate the nervous system safely. Digestive, Immune & Detox Support Visceral manipulation and nutrition help improve gut motility, liver drainage, immune function, and systemic balance. Nervous System Regulation Shifts you out of “survival mode” and into a parasympathetic healing state, promoting better sleep, clarity, and peace. Why Clients Love This Work This isn’t a one-size-fits-all model. It’s deeply intuitive, personalized care that respects your body’s wisdom. Many clients describe their sessions as:
This is care that meets you where you are—and helps guide your body back to where it wants to be. Ready to Restore What’s Been Out of Balance? Whether you’re dealing with unresolved symptoms, chronic fatigue, pain, trauma, or just feel off, this whole-body approach blends the best of bodywork, energy medicine, and nutrition to help you finally feel like yourself again. With gratitude and care, Natasha Baker, BS, LMBT, CTT, FMT, RYT Earthbound Therapeutics What are isolates?
In health and nutrition, isolates are single chemical compounds that have been extracted and separated from their natural source. For example: • Nutrient isolates: Like ascorbic acid (isolated vitamin C) instead of vitamin C as it appears in whole foods with bioflavonoids, enzymes, and cofactors. • Protein isolates: Like whey protein isolate, which has had fats and other milk components removed. • Phytochemical isolates: Like single plant compounds concentrated into supplements. Why are isolates often problematic? 1. They lack nature’s synergy. Nutrients in whole foods work together with cofactors, enzymes, and other compounds. For example, whole-food vitamin C in an orange comes with bioflavonoids that enhance absorption and use. Isolated nutrients can be poorly absorbed, less effective, or place stress on the body because they’re missing their natural “team.” 2. They can create imbalance. High doses of isolated compounds can throw off your body’s natural balance. For example: • Excess isolated calcium may increase the risk of calcification if not balanced with magnesium, vitamin K2, and D3. • Large doses of isolated vitamin E (alpha-tocopherol) can deplete other forms of vitamin E (like gamma-tocopherol). 3. They can behave like synthetic chemicals. Some isolates are made or processed synthetically. They may not behave the same way in the body as their whole-food counterparts, sometimes acting more like a drug than a food-based nutrient. 4. They can stress detox pathways. Your liver and kidneys have to process excess or unbalanced isolates, which can burden detox pathways — especially if someone’s system is already stressed by environmental toxins, poor diet, or chronic illness. Does that mean all isolates are bad? Not always! Sometimes an isolate can be helpful short-term, for example, using isolated magnesium for muscle cramps. But long-term, it’s generally best to focus on whole-food sources and supplements made from food concentrates, which provide nutrients in a naturally balanced, bioavailable form like Standard Process Products that have been around for 100 years. Be Well, Earthbound, Natasha Baker,BS,LMBT, CTT, FMT, RYT (Owner) When it comes to your health, every drop counts.
Water is at the heart of everything we do—hydration, detoxification, digestion, cellular function, and even mood regulation. But not all water devices are created equal, and not every filter on the market is as effective as it claims. That’s why I always encourage my clients to choose NSF-certified water devices. What Does NSF Certification Mean? The NSF (National Sanitation Foundation) is an independent, third-party organization that rigorously tests products for safety, quality, and performance. If a water system carries this certification, it means: It removes the contaminants it claims to remove It’s been tested under real-life conditions It meets strict public health standards It does not introduce new toxic materials into your water No gimmicks. Just transparency and proven protection. Why It Matters More Than Ever With rising levels of chlorine, fluoride, heavy metals, microplastics, and pharmaceuticals showing up in municipal water supplies, filtering your water is no longer optional—it’s a wellness essential. But filtering with the wrong device? That can leave you with a false sense of security and continued exposure to toxins that disrupt hormones, digestion, and detox pathways. Why I Choose Kangen (and Recommend It Often) Not only is the Kangen water system NSF-certified, it also:
It’s more than just clean water—its functional hydration designed to support your health at the cellular level. What to Look for When Choosing a Water Filter:
Your water is your foundation. Choose a system that’s trusted, tested, and aligned with the level of care your body deserves. If you’d like more info about the Kangen system or guidance on how to choose the best water device for your family, I’m here to help. Cheers to your health and hydration, Natasha Baker, BS, LMBT, CTT, FMT, RYT Earthbound Therapeutics www.earthboundtherapeutics.com What Are Astringents?
Astringents are natural substances — often found in herbs, fruits, and teas — that cause tissues to contract, tone, and tighten. They may produce a dry, puckering sensation in the mouth (think of biting into a raw cranberry or unripe persimmon), but this reaction reveals their healing power. Health Benefits of Astringents 1. Tones Tissues & Mucous Membranes Astringents help strengthen and firm tissues by contracting proteins. This is especially helpful for:
2. Supports Digestive Integrity Astringents can reduce inflammation and irritation in the GI tract. They’re commonly used to:
3. Regulates Fluid Balance Because they tighten tissues and reduce excess secretions, astringents help with:
4. Skin Health & Wound Healing Astringent herbs are often used externally to:
5. Anti-Microbial & Detox Support Many astringent herbs (like yarrow, raspberry leaf, and witch hazel) have antibacterial or anti-inflammatory properties that support the immune system and help draw toxins out of tissues. Common Astringent Herbs & Foods
Important Note: Balance Is Key While astringents can tone and tighten, overuse can lead to dryness. They’re best used in moderation or paired with moistening herbs (like marshmallow root or licorice) for balance. Astringents are an incredible tool in herbal and energetic medicine, helping the body “pull together” when things are too loose, leaky, or inflamed. If you’re looking for customized support in using herbal astringents for your health, I’d love to guide you. Be well, Earthbound, Natasha Baker,BS,LMBT,CTT,FMT,RYT (Owner) Whether it’s a fresh-squeezed orange juice or warm lemon water in the morning, citrus is one of the simplest, most powerful ways to support your immune system and cellular health—especially when consumed in its whole, raw form.
Vitamin C isn’t just an immune booster. It’s essential for:
Why Your Thyroid Loves Citrus Your thyroid is highly sensitive to oxidative stress and nutrient imbalances. Vitamin C is a powerful antioxidant that helps protect thyroid tissue from inflammation and free radical damage. It also: Supports adrenal-thyroid communication Assists in converting inactive T4 to active T3 Aids iron absorption, a critical mineral for thyroid hormone production Enhances liver detox pathways that help clear used hormones Why Juicing Citrus Matters Juicing whole oranges, lemons, or grapefruit unlocks nutrients that are often destroyed during pasteurization in store-bought juices. When consumed fresh and raw, you retain the natural enzymes, bioflavonoids, and antioxidants that work synergistically with vitamin C to nourish your body—and your thyroid. Oranges – Rich in natural vitamin C, potassium, and hesperidin, which supports circulation Lemons – Detoxifying, alkalizing, and great for liver and gut health Grapefruit – A powerful lymph mover and metabolism supporter (note: check medication interactions first) Tips to Get the Most from Your Citrus Drink it fresh—ideally within 15 minutes of juicing Always include a bit of the pith (the white part under the skin) for maximum bioflavonoids Try combining citrus with greens like parsley or cilantro to support thyroid and liver detox How I Can Help At Earthbound Therapeutics, we support foundational wellness by working with: Lymphatic, thyroid, and digestive system balancing. Nutrition and detox protocols that include whole-food sources like citrus. Energetic and microbial testing to identify deeper root causes. If you’re dealing with thyroid sluggishness, fatigue, inflammation, or hormone imbalance, your body may be nutrient-depleted and asking for natural support.
